A bit about me…

I’m a mom of five amazing kids, a wife to my husband of twenty two years, a daughter of two incredible parents and so gratefully of friend of many. I am an observer. I am easily distracted by the love and connections shared between all people big and small. I obsess over beautiful lighting and the newest color trends. I stop to pet every dog I meet, whistle MUCH better than I sing, have way too many plants in my house, own more hiking boots than heels, and fill my bucket by hearing people’s stories. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting my hands dirty trying a new project (I like power tools more than kitchen gadgets), watching my kids play soccer, listening to books, traveling all over the world and just sitting quietly once in awhile to take it all in.

A little history…

My husband and I met in college and were married a year after we graduated. We moved to Grass Valley in 2003 right before our first was born. For the next decade or so, I was either pregnant, nursing or doing laundry. Yes, my hands are full, but so is my heart. I have immensely enjoyed the privilege of raising our kids. There is nothing I am more proud of than our family and the time we have invested in each other.

I received my B.A. in Art & Photography from UC Santa Cruz back in 2000 (I’m dating myself, but I actually learned solely in film!). Since that time, I have worked as a large format printer, photographic editor, graphic designer and (of course) a photographer.

Now that our older kids have left the nest, I am realizing more than ever how quickly it all goes by. I miss kissing their chubby cheeks, but I love that our home is still filled with friends, laughter, music and messes (well, at least most of the time). I hope I get to be part of helping your family hold your loved ones and memories even closer.

Collecting Moments

My husband and I decided before we were even married, that we would strive to live a life that isn’t mundane. So, we have chosen to “collect moments instead of things”. Our kids and us have made every effort to see the world. It been filled with wonder, exhaustion, mosquito bites, laughter, tears, love, fights, beautiful people, dancing, long delays, amazing food and a number of stomach bugs… and, we don’t regret a single minute of it. Here’s a few photos of the places we now hold dear.
